Fibreglass prickles

12 days with out a toilet, with out a sink, with fibreglass prickles all through our beds, climbing the ladder, the wind shuddering the boat. Even after 12 days we are nowhere near ready to go back in the water. While slade slogs his heart out grinding and sanding, the girls and I have been busy seeing the country side. One day we lashed out and I took the girls to the mud pool. This involved catching 6 buses to get there an back. It was great fun and such a luxury to kick back in a hot spring by ourselves. Another day we got ripped off once again. I paid a man to take me home, instead he dropped the girls and I on the highway at the bottom of the hill/mountain ! From here I carried AK with my 7kg back pack, holding KL hand and started the trudge up the worlds biggest hill in the midday heat. I was absolutely livid ! We slaughtered our legs stampeding through the long grass trying not to get too close to the oncoming traffic. When we all tried to run across the highway my grocery bag split, my groceries and new bowls scattered all over the highway. I got the kids to the other side, then stowed them away in the grass. Thankfully there was a break in the traffic, I rescued my groceries , a little bruised but were saved from becoming road kill. After 1hr and 20 mins we reached the top of my Everest the sweat pouring off me. I was shattered and still had another 3.5km to go. This might seem like nothing, but when you have to carry a 15kg tiddler and 7kg back pack with a bag full of lose groceries wedge under the other arm, it’s a lon way ! I may have let the tears of frustration roll down my face, KL crying with me her legs shredded from the long grass. I was so furious at the taxi driver for ripping us off and making us walk so far. It’s the third driver who has ripped us off.once we got to our street I collapsed in a heap. Out came the block of marvellous creations chocolate that my parents had posted. The collection of that parcel the whole reason we had gone into town and been stranded. The girls and I ate the whole block before we struggle the last 200m back to the marina. An adventure that I would rather not had
